Originally installed circa 1799 and uncovered in 1974 this 16” x 4” (40.6cm x 10.2cm) wooden tee is now on display in the reception of the Troy New York Water Treatment Plant. A fantastic piece of historical hydraulic engineering and carpentry workmanship – amazingly it’s still intact…and, we assume, corrosion free! Could it be crafted today?
